The overall content of the book was O.K. but I wouldn't go out of my way to recomend this book. I was not very impressed with this book. First of all I am always anoyed when someone trys to give all the credit for developing the dance to one country, which he did. Second, it's written by a man who basically thinks the dance was created soley for the enjoyment of men. and while that may be part of the reason it was created it is nowhere nere the whole truth. I did like that he agreed on it being a celebration of the female body, which it is. I also found many of the pictures to be on the border of offensive and to some people I know they would be very offensive. I did howver see artistic aspects of the potos too. The book offers a chapter about the history and folk dances of Turkey before it goes into the rest of the book. Although some of the pictures were lewd and degrading I did feel some of the pictures had a lot of artistic expression. The book did have a lot of picture of dancers and different costumes. It gave me some ideas for creating some new costumes for myself. But I did not feel the book was written in a very tastefull manner.
