Doum: is played by slapping the center of the drum with your dominant hand and pulling your hand back quickly (like playing hot potato).
Tek: is played by slapping the rim of your drum with your dominant hand.
Ka: is played by slapping the rim of your drum with your non-dominant hand.
Teka: is played by playing tek and ka right next to each other without pause (first your dominant hand then your non-dominant hand)

* Beladi is properly called Masmoodi Saghir but I have given both in this page. Beladi is the common name for these rythyms in the US. On this page Beladi is the more filled version of Masmoodi Saghir with a bridge on the end. The rythym can be played without the bridge by not playing the last teka. Both rythyms are of the same family, Masmoodi Saghir.
